EUROsociAL+ has been assisting Uruguay for 15 years in promoting key public policies to improve social cohesion. It coordinates its action with the Uruguayan institutions through the Uruguayan Agency of International Cooperation (AUCI) and the European Union’s Delegation in the country. Between 2019 and 2020, three country round table meetings were held that made it possible to consolidate a Roadmap for the implementation, coordination and monitoring of the prioritised actions. In 2020, an exercise was carried out to systematise the results of policies supported during the 2017-2020 period. This brought to light interesting findings regarding the programme’s contributions to the advancement of national policies and in achieving goals on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Currently, EUROsociAL+ and Uruguay are implementing 29 countrywide and 25 regional actions in various sectoral areas, under a multidimensional, inter-institutional and complementary approach, while the country is participating as a provider of expertise for other Latin American countries with which the Programme is working.
