The EUROsociAL+ Programme accompanies Paraguay in several reforms of key public policies to improve social cohesion. It coordinates its action with the Paraguayan institutions through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union’s Delegation in the country.
Paraguay participates in all three of the EUROsociAL+ Programme activity areas to acquire the best practice of its Latin American and European peers in the:
- Social Policies Area: with lines of action on social inclusion, combating poverty and care policy, which are comprehensively supported to create a Social Protection system (structure, services and benefits, etc.) and to also serve as a basis for the formulation of the European Union's budget support, as well as of the National Care Policy. All this in order to improve the basic conditions of quality of life, mitigate the damage caused by social risks and facilitate access to opportunities throughout the human life cycle.
- Gender Equality policies area: With its line of economic autonomy and care, the programme supports methodologies for the construction of management indicators and the development of people from a gender-based perspective, for the implementation of the Gender Action Plan, which contributes towards promoting equal opportunities.
Paraguay participates in the EUROsociAL+ Programme as a transferring agent of its good institutional practices, among which are the design and operation of the Integrated Social Information System (SIIS) and the Comprehensive System for the Protection of Children and Adolescents.
