The EUROsociAL+ Programme accompanies Honduras in several reforms of key public policies to improve social cohesion. It coordinates its actions with Honduran institutions through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the European Union’s Delegation in the country.
Honduras participates in two of the EUROsociAL+ Programme's areas of work aimed at acquiring the best practices of its Latin American and European peers in:
- Social Policies Area: with the line of action of social inclusion and the fight against poverty, we help by strengthening a system designed to monitor and evaluate the implementation of social programmes and policies so as to improve their impact. With the line of active employment policies we support the reform of the current general and professional training system to create a workforce with equal opportunities and that has an adequate level of education as well as the technical and professional training required to meet the needs of the labour market.
- Democratic Governance policy area: with the line of action access to justice we promote the implementation of the "100 Brasilia Regulations Regarding Access to Justice for Vulnerable People".
- Gender Area: several collaboration options in this area are being discussed.
Honduras participates in the EUROsociAL+ Programme as a transferring agent of its good institutional practices, together with El Salvador, with the Trifinio Plan for regional development.
