Corruption and gender series: Andrónika Zans, Provincial Prosecutor in Cusco, specialising in human trafficking crimes

Andrónika Zans is a Provincial Prosecutor in Cusco specialising in human trafficking crimes. In this interview, she explains the connections between corruption and trafficking or the different forms of corruption that facilitate the business of trafficking and hinder the scope of investigations.

This testimony was recorded in November 2019 in Lima (Peru), within the framework of the meeting “Women, Corruption and Trust: the Differentiated Impacts of Corruption on women in Latin America, Peru”, organised by the EUROsociAL+ Democratic Governance Area together with the Peruvian Secretariat for Integrity, the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The EUROsociAL+ Democratic Governance Area, through the good government action line, supports different Peruvian institutions (Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Judiciary and the High Level Commission on Anti-corruption-CAN), uniting their efforts to make this phenomenon visible and mitigate it.
