EUROsociAL+ Democratic Governance Policies Area

EUROsociAL+ is a European Union cooperation programme, working with Latin America that contributes to reducing inequality, improving levels of social cohesion and strengthening the institutions of 19 Latin American countries. It provides support for the process of designing, reforming and implementing public policy, focusing its action on the areas of gender equality, democratic governance and social policy.

The Democratic Governance area, coordinated by FIIAPP, aims to support public policies that promote equity, participation, pluralism and development, focusing on the effectiveness and efficiency of the State and its legitimacy towards its citizenship.
In this interview, Sonia González Fuentes, a coordinator in the EUROsociAL+ Democratic Governance Policy Area, explains the main lines of work in the area: public finances, territorial development, inclusive justice, good governance and construction of citizenship.
