Paradigm of social, environmental and economic sustainability: triple impact businesses advance in Latin America

A new meeting of the Latin American Network to start regional Mapping on triple impact public policies and businesses in Latin America, supported by the EU through EUROsociAL+, was attended by public institutions from Argentina (Ministry for Productive Development), Brazil (Ministry of Economy), Mexico (Ministry of Economy) and Uruguay (Planning and Budget Office).

The operational meeting between the countries comprising the Latin American Network on public policies for impact investments and businesses and experts in the field of social impact was a fruitful encounter that allowed countries to share experiences on this topic and reflect on the importance of a comprehensive approach within the new entrepreneurial models that are being promoted in the region.

The virtual meeting, which included the participation of representatives from public institutions in Argentina (Ministry for Productive Development), Brazil (Ministry of Economy), Mexico (Ministry of Economy) and Uruguay (Planning and Budget Office), turned into an opportunity for a detailed presentation to participants of the results achieved in the systematisation of the National Strategy for Investments and Impact Businesses in Brazil (ENIMPACTO), one of the products commissioned from the EUROsociAL Programme by the Network.

Successively, the roadmap’s presentation and feedback for the realisation of regional mapping regarding public policies and impact businesses was delivered, another product that will be supported by EUROsociAL, and that is expected to be developed gradually, hand in hand with institutions and public players of countries that comprise the Network. In this sense, the meeting enabled an exchange of points of view and of fundamental opinions over this topic for the start-up of the mapping tasks.

The meeting ended very positively with a joint vision on the importance of the institutional structure promoting, sustaining and facilitating the dissemination of business ecosystems with a social, environmental and economic impact in order to continue advancing in terms of social cohesion and sustainable development in the European Union – Latin America agenda.
