The European Union promotes international best practices to fight corruption in Latin America

EUROsociAL+, in alliance with the Ibero-American Network of Prosecutors against Corruption, the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors and the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office, has produced an audiovisual guide with the best experiences and best practices in combating corruption in Latin America, the guide is being coordinated by FIIAPP's Democratic Governance policy area

The publication “Best Practices in Fighting Corruption” was produced a year ago as part of the action on “Strengthening International Cooperation in the Fight Against Corruption; AIAMP Anti-Corruption Network and Good Practices Guide”. As a complement, and to support this publication, EUROsociAL TV has produced a complete audiovisual series based on the interviews that were carried out in an activity with Public Prosecutors in Brasilia.

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay are participating in this innovative initiative along with Portugal and Spain as representatives of experiences in the European Union. The technical coordination of this multimedia production was handled by Diana Español, an international expert from the EUROsociAL+ Programme on anti-corruption issues.

All the Public Prosecutors’ Offices from the 17 countries belonging to the specialised Network of Prosecutors against Corruption are participating in the launch of this audiovisual series, which EUROsociAL+ and the European Union are supporting in the common goal of fighting corruption in the region. The network was initially formed by Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay; and the incorporation of Spain, El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru was made possible thanks to the work of the AIAMP.

Both the publication and the video-interviews show the intense inter-institutional collaboration, which dates back to July 2018, when the Brazilian Attorney General’s office (PGR), and the European Union programme for social cohesion consolidated technical support within the EUROsociAL+ line of action on “good governance and the fight against corruption” for activities conducted by the Network.
