This initiative has already led to the roll-out of 140 tax and accounting assistance hubs throughout Latin America since the Programme began promoting them
As another alternative to help small taxpayers fulfil their fiscal obligations, this Monday 30 October the Tax Agency, Fidélitas University and the EUROsociAL Programme opened a Tax Assistance Hub (NAF) in La Libertad Park, in Desamparados.
NAFs offer free assistance to small taxpayers who, for a variety of reasons, find it difficult to go to a tax administration in person for basic consultations on tax procedures.
This is the third Tax Assistance Hub in the country. The first NAF was opened in 2013 with the University of Costa Rica, and the second opened in 2015 at the National Technical University.
The inauguration was attended by the General Tax Director, Carlos Vargas, the Academic and Research Vice Chairman of Fidélitas University Emmanuel Fernández, and the Executive Director of Fundación Parque Metropolitano La Libertad Dora María Sequeira, who were all accompanied by a EUROsociAL representative.
Tax Assistance Hubs are crewed by advanced students of Accounting and Business Administration who, as part of their university internship programme, provide their assistance services to taxpayers on issues like registration, modifying registration information, updating information, preparing and presenting tax statements, paying connectivity taxes and presenting the informative statement.
NAFs were implemented in Costa Rica with the technical and financial assessment of EUROsociAL, a European Union programme for social cohesion in Latin America.
The Fidélitas University NAF attends to the public Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in La Libertad Park, located in Patarrá de Desamparados. Also available to users is their e-mail address: naf@ufide.ac.cr
