Supporting the Technical Labour Group of the Pacific Alliance in the field of certification of labour skills

The EU EUROsociAL+ Programme has been supporting the Technical Labour Group of the Pacific Alliance since last semester in the construction of an approval system regarding the professional skills’ certification of labour migrants from Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile

The Technical Labour Group of the Pacific Alliance comprises Chile Valora, the National Apprenticeship Service of Colombia, CONOCER of Mexico and Peru’s Labour and Employment Ministry.

The process is being carried out through the work of a Network of Experts from the four institutions that, with the support of consultants provided by the Programme who meet remotely with the Network, are defining the approval mechanism based on national skills certification systems and an initial catalogue of comparable profiles.

In this sense, and due to the crisis caused by COVID-19, the Technical Labour Group is defining the provision of virtual training in the most affected sectors, in particular in hotel and catering and tourism. This training offer brings together that already existing in the four countries, making it available to the citizens of each of them and, in each of the countries, enables the qualifications achieved by the students to be recognised. In addition, the EUROsociAL+ Programme will support the link with institutions that offer training courses in Europe so that they make their courses available in order to integrate and strengthen this offer.
