Strengthening of the protection network for the elderly and people with disabilities

Peru has implemented the Support Network for Older Adults at High Risk and People with Severe Disabilities (AMACHAY). Amachay is a Quechua word that means to care for or
protect, and it is the name of the protection network for the Elderly with High Risk (PAMAR) and Persons with Severe Disabilities (PCDS). Its purpose is to provide promotion, prevention and protection services that contribute to the mitigation of the effects of coronavirus (COVID-19).
