Resultados de traducción Inclusion of people with disabilities in the Educational System of Uruguay

Publication date: 09/05/2022

In Uruguay, the right to education is extended and linked to a national system of public, free and compulsory education. This system, based on the principles of universality, has ensured that many boys and girls with disabilities —especially those with mild or moderate disabilities— attend primary school. However, the school dropout of children is very high since, according to UNICEF data, in 2013 only 3 out of 10 children with disabilities went beyond the sixth grade in their studies and very few reached secondary education.
