EUROsociAL makes this exchange between public educational administrations possible
An exchange visit by a delegation of representatives of Uruguay’s National Administration for Public Education (the Spanish acronym of which is ANEP) to the Argentine province of Santa Fe provided a detailed insight into the Back-to-School Plan, as well as into the work being carried out by the Ministry for Education and the other relevant bodies involved in the implementation of this policy designed to achieve a continuous and complete education.
ANEP has a policy of protecting those educational courses that it considers a priority. Its implementation as of the beginning of 2016 is one of the main challenges facing the Uruguayan education system. It is aimed at all middle school students, and sets out to guarantee the conditions for the development of continuous and complete courses. Part of this policy consists of monitoring the educational progress of every student, with emphasis on those with tenuous educational links.
The main purpose of this monitoring is the early identification of factors that put educational progress at risk, as well as to improve learning conditions. It also serves to develop actions to help newly trained primary education professionals.
During the exchange visit, the topics addressed were: aspects related to the design of the Back-to-School Plan within the framework of the construction of a central level policy; factors associated with the approach of the Plan’s proposed bi-modal structure (educators and teacher trainers); and, finally, how to approach the territorial and virtual component of the Plan. This knowledge gained will be taken as inputs for the improvement of policies in Uruguay.
