Samuel Rotta Castilla, is the director of Proética, the Peruvian section of Transparency International This organisation has been conducting national surveys on corruption since 2002. As of 2012, it has been employing an analysis variable which looks at how corruption specifically affects women. This study highlighted the direct relationship between corruption and human trafficking, or how women’s, young women’s and girls’ bodies are often used as currency in corrupt transactions.
