The future of Residential Care Homes for the Elderly in Argentina

Assessment meeting on the support lent by the European Union EUROsociAL+ Programme to the Ministry of Health to develop a new regulatory framework for Residential Care Homes for the Elderly in Argentina. The activity was carried out virtually on 7 December at 12 noon Argentina / 4 pm Europe. Sandra Tirado, Secretary of Health of the Nation participated in the Opening Round Table to welcome the attendees.

The main documents were prepared with support from the EUROsociAL+ Programme and presented to the authorities of the Ministry of Health, the Intra-ministerial Board of the Ministry of Health (made up of the Ministries of Access, Equity and Quality), the Advisory Council on Elderly People’s Health from the Directorate of Adults and Seniors (made up of seniors with outstanding experience in issues related to gerontology), the Argentine Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics (SAGG), the Chamber of Residential Homes for the Elderly; representatives of the Argentine Federation of Health Workers (FATSA); and Uruguayan officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Development (EUROsociAL+ South-South cooperation).
