Compilation of good inter-institutional practices in care, punishment and prevention of gender violence in the COVID-19 context
Author / Authors: Edith López HernándezPublication date: 10/11/2020
During the start of the pandemic, multiple Latin American institutions expressed to the EUROsociAL + gender area the need for support in the response to the prevention, care and punishment of gender violence in the context of social isolation due to the COVID19 crisis and in its stages later. It was an opportunity to respond collectively to a bi-regional need (EU-LA), contributing the expertise and experience of the program in the articulation and facilitation of spaces between Latin American and European institutions competent in the matter.
From May to July 2020, webinars were held on the institutional response to gender violence in the context of Covid-19. The objective was to create spaces for dialogue and strengthen collaboration networks between the different competent actors in Latin America and Europe, in the care, punishment and prevention of gender violence.
In order to expand the experiences presented, EUROsociAL + promoted a “Compilation of good inter-institutional practices in care, punishment and prevention of gender-based violence in the COVID-19 context”, carried out by the Mexican expert Maria Edith Lopez Hernández, including good practices in Europe and Latin America.
