Spending review of the Educational Infrastructure Program in the State of Guanajuato

The Secretariat of Finance, Investment and Administration (SFIA), the Institute of Planning, Statistics and Geography of the State of Guanajuato (Iplaneg), the Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato (SEG) and the Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure of Guanajuato (Inifeg), With the support of EUROsociAL + and the INSTITUTO DE ESTUDIOS FISCALES DE ESPAÑA, they applied the methodology known as Spending Review to the state educational infrastructure program.

Unlike the evaluations traditionally applied in Guanajuato, and in Mexico, the innovative comprehensive approach of the Spending Review made it possible to analyze from the diagnosis to the results of the program, with the incorporation of the gender perspective. The implementation of the Spending Review, not only showed the need to make updates to this specific program, it also exposed the need to strengthen the evaluation model of the state of Guanajuato, through the institutionalization of this type of methodologies, the application of an external evaluation and the use of the State Network of Evaluators, which will make it possible to expand the universe of programs reviewed.
