he barriers that rural women experience to access justice and land show the need to promote and implement actions that resolve their lack of information and knowledge so that they can access their constitutional and legal guarantees. This Training Program is aimed at women representatives of rural women’s organizations. The objective is empowerment, through the exercise of their recognition as subjects of law, due to the multiple discriminations that they have historically experienced. It includes information on international and national regulations and national public policies; and institutions with competence in rural women’s issues. It also contains theoretical-methodological reflections that support a comprehensive understanding of the situation of rural women, and allow actions to be taken to overcome the exclusion and vulnerability that affect them.
This Herramienta EUROsociAL + is part of the collection of publications that have been produced within the framework of the program’s accompaniment to the Colombian Ministry of Justice and Law. EUROsociAL + accompanies the process of democratization of access to land, for the benefit of peasants and especially peasant women without land or with insufficient land, and of the rural communities most affected by the conflict. This action works for the recognition of the role of women, respect for their rights over land and in the resolution of conflicts over its use and tenure.
