Author / Authors: Lourdes BermejoPublication date: 15/11/2022
This publication is the product of a support action of the EUROsociAL+ European Union Program to the Ministry of Health of Argentina, aimed at the preparation of a bill that regulates the operation of residences for the elderly in Argentina. The publication proposes some fundamental criteria that should underlie the formulation of a regulatory framework for residences that house and provide long-term social and health services for the elderly, guaranteeing the rights of residents. The purpose of this publication is to contribute to public care policies in Argentina, as well as in other countries, considering as the basis of their regulatory frameworks a care model for people in situations of dependency centered on the person, in full respect the rights of those who stay in residences for the elderly, especially in times of pandemic.
