Diagnosis of the Solidarity, Social and Popular Economy and of family agriculture in Argentina

This publication is the product of an action to support the European Union Program EUROsociAL + to the Ministry of Social Development (MDS) of Argentina, to strengthen the Plan Nacional Argentina contra el Hambre (PACH).
The MDS has defined as the central guideline of its social policy the immediate attention to hunger in Argentina, promoting actions that serve the most vulnerable population, in the social and economic crisis that the country is going through, aggravated by the pandemic. In this context, the EUROsociAL + Program provided technical assistance and exchange activities with international experiences from Europe and Latin America to: (i) strengthen the implementation of the Plan; (ii) improve the production and commercialization of PACH food and (iii) design post-pandemic adaptations; In addition, to (iv) facilitate the institutionalization of inter-institutional and jurisdictional coordination with other civil society actors. The purpose of this publication is contribute to Argentina, as well as other countries, to achieve food security beyond the emergency measures adopted to get food to people, but also to the global regulation of agri-food systems based on production chains and interconnected in economies and dynamics of social life in different territories, in each country.
