The COVID-19 health crisis and social isolation have exacerbated the different forms of violence against women and girls, as well as people of gender diversity, at the same time, they have increased the institutional obstacles to care for them. Various initiatives in Europe and Latin America have allowed the emergence of contingency plans and protocols that allow victims to be guided, as well as the different institutions. Even so, the authorities have the challenge of offering flexible tools in accordance with a crisis context, where human, financial and infrastructure resources are limited. This document explores and identifies innovative practices in virtual or semi-face-to-face trials, especially in those practices for crimes committed for reasons of gender or based on gender violence, which are implemented in the Judiciary and/or Councils of the Judiciary in the LAC and Spain.
