Good practices of support policies for family caregivers

This document appears within the scope of the terms of reference for the construction of a National Policy on Support Measures for Family Caregivers. It is recognized that people with disability/dependence/have limitations that do not allow them to perform functional activities in their daily life and that they need long-term care, which are provided mainly in the family environment. The theme of dependency and family care has gained relevance in the scientific field, as well as in the debates on health and social care policies, which has given this theme a wide field of discussion. The objective of this document is to explore, through the review of documents, projects of good practices to support family caregivers in Brazil. Information sources: official documents that form part of the primary sources of information, in this case, decrees and orders issued by Brazilian and international administrations; academic research, in addition to the use of secondary sources that support the elaboration of this document.
