The experience in working directly with families in conflicts in the judicial field has made it possible to demonstrate the damage and suffering of children and adolescents, immersed in litigation between their families. The Family Jurisdiction of the Judicial Branch of the Republic of Panama seeks effective alternatives to scientifically and technically address this problem.
This is how the initiative arose to implement a Family Meeting Point in the facilities of the Center for Prevention and Family Orientation, with a multidisciplinary technical team. Among its objectives is to facilitate the meeting of children and adolescents with the non-custodial parent and/or the family in a neutral space, guaranteeing the interests of minors in conflict situations, providing professional guidance for the improvement of parent-child relationships. subsidiaries and parenting skills so that they achieve autonomy and can maintain relationships with minors without depending on this service.
In order to implement this strategy, the EUROsociAL+ Program of the European Union provided technical advice, experiences, good practices and knowledge applied in similar implementations at European level. This document is the product aimed at professionals who work at the Family Meeting Point, which provides them with techniques on how to establish an intervention plan with families.
