Country or Region: Latin American Region
Language: Spanish
Topic: Exchange of experiences
Olicy Areas: Democratic governance policies
The activity aims to present the report “The Potential of Accounting and Tax Support Centres as a Lever for Social Inclusion”, prepared by Antonio Rodríguez-Carmona. The Seminar is organised by the EUROsociAL+ Democratic Governance Area in close collaboration with the Tax Education Network.
In this study, the author reflects, together with the institutions that make up the Latin American NAF Network, on these scenarios, breaking new ground by collecting innovative experiences from various countries where NAFs have had an impact on improving the lives of the population. The analysis shows that NAFs have enormous potential to become more actively involved in public policies on fiscal inclusion in the countries in the region and, in this way, act as a catalyst for the 2030 Agenda.
The presentation of the study will be followed by a discussion with students and coordinators of NAFs from universities and tax administrations in Latin America who will reflect on some of the innovative experiences included in the book:
- BLOCK 1: The coordination of NAFs with flagship policies on social inclusion: the cases of Colombia and Ecuador
- BLOCK 2: Virtual care during the COVID-19 pandemic: towards NAFs 2.0
- BLOCK 3: The specialised attention given by some NAFs to women
- BLOCK 4: The specialised attention given by NAFs to social organisations. The cases of the Consultorio Contable Javeriano in Bogotá and the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
