Multidimensional Index for Salary Equity in Colombia

The instrument presented in this document aims to meet the objectives of following up and monitoring salary inequalities, considering some of the factors that cause and maintain the pay gap between men and women in Colombia. In this way, the aim is to contribute to the fight against persistent salary inequalities to the detriment of women, with the necessary pragmatism to take into account the diversity of situations in companies, organizations and institutions. Competitiveness strategies need to rely on productivity gains rather than low salary costs, which are short-term strategies that do not point to the economic and social sustainable development.
